Working from Home During COVID-19

Working from home may not be a stretch for many real estate agents, but due to COVID-19 Social Distancing Guidelines, it’s important for everyone to bend their normal routines a bit and bring work home. Here are some productivity tips for successfully doing so.

Stick to Your Morning Routine

Waking up at the same time as usual and keeping your normal routine is essential to remembering it is still a work day. Whether it’s an hour at the gym or coffee by 8:00AM, stick with the program.

Set Work Hours

You are home and the day seems limitless but here’s the hard truth: Dinner time comes quickly. So look at the clock like you’re at the office and manage time wisely.

Don’t Forget to Take Breaks

Breaks are important during any work day. Taking a few small breaks and a lunch break rejuvenates you to get through the day.

Create and Use a Workspace

You don’t have to have a home office to successfully work at home. Carve out a quiet spot in your home where you can be productive. A chair and small desk is a must though, so consider your dining room table before attempting to make the corner of the bed your office. The key is to simulate an office as much as possible.

Set Boundaries for Others in the Home

COVID-19 is keeping many home, including children, so whether you normally work from home or it’s new to you, set boundaries. Let others in the household know you are indeed working when you are in your workspace. Perhaps give them a schedule, so they know when your breaks are and when you will be available.

Exclusively working from home isn’t as easy as many think. It takes discipline and boundaries to be successful, and we at Beken School Of Real Estate wish you well during the challenges of COVID-19.
